Soren Vale was inside the Fold when it first folded. The official record says he died there. The unofficial record says he walked out eleven minutes before he went in.
Null field is not a shield. It is a delay, a pocket of borrowed time that lets a crew finish a revive, crack a vault or leave a room that should already be gone.
He does not talk about the eleven minutes. He does talk about the extraction window.
